Nasi Impit

Nasi Impit is a simpler version of ketupat Nasi. For what it takes to make ketupat Nasi, weaving coconut leaves and turning it into a pouch, before filling it with rice and then boiling the ketupat for about 3 hours. It takes half the time with Nasi impit. You simply buy the ready made Nasi impit in plastic bags and boil the whole thing for about an hour or so.

Nasi impit is traditional food. I was told that travelers bring Nasi impit during their travel and eat it with serunding (a kind of beef or chicken curry floss). Nasi impit lasts longer than packed rice.

Nowadays, nasi impit and ketupat nasi is eaten with peanut sauce.

Takoyaki

This is Takoyaki, a Japanese snack made from flour batter and cooked with minced octopus or cuttlefish in the middle. Usually eaten during tea time. They tastes nice, with a unique taste on their own. Before 2014, I have never heard of Takoyaki, now it looks like its a common treat around KL.
