Nyonya Curry Noodles

Curry noodles. This one is Nyonya Melaka version. Nyonyas are the decendants of Chinese traders in Malacca, way back in the 1400s. Their cookings are particularly distint from the Malays and Chinese.

Affogatto. At an ice cream shop, instead of the usual coffee shop. So this one has excellent ice cream.

Nasi Tomato (Tomato Rice)

The Tomato rice is usually served during wedding ceremonies to guests. Served along with chilly sambal chicken, beef korma and vegetable acar (sour pickles). The Tomato rice is so called because tomato puree is mixed during its preparation.

Love them or hate them. There are more than 20 varieties of Durians. They vary in taste (bitter or sweet), smell, texture and colour.

Every year we celebrate New Years, Festival or holidays of sorts. And all these holidays have types of food related to the celebration, traditional of course. Every year also however, we see more and more western type cakes and sweetmeats being introduced to our own celebrations. These are cheese tarts. Tarts with sweet cheese fillings.
